Technical Art History with a minor in Anthropology

Hometown: Honeoye, NY

Why did you choose to attend WVU?
I chose to attend WVU because of its Technical Art History major and once I visited I fell in love with the atmosphere and saw all the opportunities that were available here.

What do you like about your major and your WVU experience?
This major allows me to take a variety of classes, from art history to chemistry, which will help me achieve my academic and career goals. Along with the classes, the professors are rooting for your success and are more than willing to assist in any way they can.

What advice would you give to prospective students considering attending WVU's College of Creative Arts?
Prospective students should know that there are supportive professors, small class sizes, hands-on experiences, study abroad programs, and opportunities for internships.

Have you recently received any awards or scholarships? Have you recently participated in any competitions, productions, performances or exhibitions?
This past summer I also was able to participate In the Jacknowitzs summer internship which allowed me to work closely with the registrar, Karen Louvar, at the WVU Art Museum. I was able to set up and take down exhibitions, worked with art collections, and visit professional conservators. Being able to work behind the scenes at the museum gave me practical skills and heightened my excitement for future opportunities.

Do you participate in any clubs or organizations?
Prior to coming to WVU, I was an exchange student through American Feild Service (AFS) I continue to affiliate with the program. At WVU I am a member of the Art History Club. By being in this club I’ve been able to visit museums and create a community with my peers.
