Class Rank: Senior

Major and Minor:

Anthropology and Dance dual major; Art History minor

Hometown: Fairmont, WV

Why did you choose to attend WVU?
I ultimately chose to attend WVU because it was one of the few places where I could easily pursue both my passions for dance and anthropology. This, coupled with location and cost made it the perfect place for me.

What do you like about your major and your WVU experience?
Both of my majors are fairly small programs, which means I have been able to connect with professors in a way that is often not possible in a class of 200+ students. I appreciate that my professors are very committed to making these connections with students and helping them with things outside of regular coursework. As I am currently applying for graduate programs, scholarships, and funding, I am beyond thankful for the support system I have here at WVU.

What advice would you give to prospective students considering attending WVU's College of Creative Arts?
The CAC is full of so many amazing programs. If you are passionate about pursuing the arts, WVU will have something to offer your.

And for those of you considering auditioning for a program this year, break a leg!

Have you recently received any awards or scholarships? Have you recently participated in any competitions, productions, performances or exhibitions?
This summer I received scholarships from Eberly, the Office of Global Affairs, and the College of Creative Arts to attend the San Gemini Preservation Studies Program. I participated in the Archaeological Ceramics course, which involved the analysis, conservation, and restoration of Etruscan and Roman pottery. Following this program, I also did a ten-day Intercession Tour to Siena, Florence and Rome where we visited important sites of the Renaissance, Medieval, and Roman periods, as well as visited restoration labs of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence and the National Etruscan Museum in Rome.
This year I was also named a 2023 Eberly Scholar.

Do you participate in any clubs or organizations?
I am the current treasurer of the WVU Anthropology Club and a member of editorial review board for the Mountaineer Undergraduate Research Review. I am also a member of the Honors Student Association and the Student Dance Association.
