Why did you choose to attend WVU?

I chose WVU because of the excitement of the newly established Dance Major, being the first of its kind in the state. It was the perfect timing for myself to return to school to finish my degree. As a non traditional student I was welcomed by the students and faculty at the College of creative arts to push myself and follow my dreams.

What is your profession now?

I am a Playlist Productions Dancer/Singer for Carnival Cruise Lines performing in their one of a kind original production shows.

What is your most interesting current/upcoming project?

I am currently in rehearsals for my upcoming contract on the Carnival Sunshine based out of Charleston, SC. I recently interviewed for the position of Dance Captain and was selected for the position for this contract. I will be in charge of all of the choreographic elements of the shows onboard. Cleaning and maintaining directors intent for shows and creating reblocks in the situation of a cast member being unable to perform.

How do you feel WVU and the College of Creative Arts prepared you for your career?

Yoav and all of the faculty in the dance department were a huge support system for myself and the other dancers in the program. Each of the faculty has such unique and varied performance backgrounds and experiences that they can easily guide each student to preparing them for the next step in their selected career path.

If you could give one piece of advice to incoming or current students in WVU's College of Creative Arts, what would it be?

Do it all! Don’t box yourself into one specific area of interest. The more you know about all aspects of theatre and performing arts will make you a more knowledgeable and employable person.
