Why did you choose to attend WVU?
West Virginia University I believe is the only college in the state of WV to offer my major. The draw for me to this major was huge. When I found out about it I knew it was for me because I had been contemplating the medical field and the music field. WVU is also located only 45 minutes from my hometown. I am a very family oriented person and love being able to go home on the weekends to see them.

What do you like about your major and your WVU experience?
My major is very interesting in that it gives the opportunity for different options of tracks to take. I currently am a junior on the Physicians Assistant track and plan on graduating next semester in the fall of 2024. My major allows me to have the best of both worlds. I am able to take vocal lessons, since that is my instrument, while also taking stem courses. I get to practice and advance in something that I have always loved to do, while also being able to take courses that will allow me to be able to apply to PA school.

What advice would you give to prospective students considering attending WVU's College of Creative Arts?
I attended a small private school in Clarksburg, WV called Notre Dame High School. The beauty of a small school is that it gives you the chance to get to know everybody. The College of Creative Arts is similar in this way because compared to the entire university we are just a small, but important fraction of the students. Being in the same building all day with your friends is great and helps make connections that will last a lifetime. The staff at the College of Creative arts is also very helpful for any and all needs. James Froemel in particular is the man who does it all. If I have questions about anything he is the first to help me in any way he can. Things like this makes the college experience a little less stressful. The College of Creative Arts is great and I am happy to be a student here.

Do you participate in any clubs or organizations? If so, please list them and let us know how you are involved.
I am the cofounder of the Music and Health Club that was started in the fall of 2022. I serve as the co-president on this club along with Hannah Tackett. The club is open to any and all majors interested in either music and or health. We are just getting started and have some plans to eventually gain more members and help make students aware of this interesting yet practical major.
