Why did you choose to attend WVU?

My high school art teacher went to WVU and encouraged me to check out the school’s Art Education program. He helped me register for a portfolio day, so I was able to see the school and meet faculty. When I visited, I loved the atmosphere of the Creative Arts Center and being able to see real studio space made me excited to create.

What do you like about your major and your WVU experience?

The best part of my major is the other students. We have all grown close throughout our time together and created a great system of support. Some of my favorite memories are actually ones made with other art students in the studio at the Creative Arts Center after hours. It always reminded me I was not alone and usually resulted in a night full of laughter.

What advice would you give to prospective students considering attending WVU's College of Creative Arts?

Things might feel tough at first because everything is changing, but it's all worth it. Don't be afraid to try new things and step outside of your comfort zone. College has so much to offer so take advantage of your time here.

What do you hope to accomplish as an ambassador of the CCA?

I wanted to become an ambassador to help students through their transition into college. I remember how overwhelming the whole process was and how the ambassadors were always around to offer support when we needed it. I hope to be someone they can reach out to when they have questions or just want to talk about what college is like.

Have you recently received any awards or scholarships? Have you recently participated in any competitions or exhibitions?

Recently I had an artwork selected for 'The Secret Life of Color' juried exhibition at the Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
