Faculty in the West Virginia University School of Music will present a free showcase concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 8.
“This concert is our way of welcoming the WVU and Morgantown community into the music hall to enjoy the high-quality skillset of our faculty members who contribute to the education of WVU students,” said Nina Assimakopoulos, associate professor of flute. “Individual faculty members often have solo recitals, but this is an opportunity to hear a number of faculty perform in one concert.”
The Oct. 8 concert will feature a diverse range of music from faculty members:
Jonas Thoms, horn
Lyon Piano Trio: Erin Ellis, cello; Mikylah McTeer, violin; Ching-Wen Hsiao, piano
Rob Chaffin, voice
Lynn Hileman, bassoon
WVU Percussion Faculty
Nina Assimakopoulos, flute; Sun Jung Lee, piano
The concert will be approximately one hour long and is located in Bloch Hall, room 202A, in the Creative Arts Center. The show is free and open to the public. The next faculty showcase concert will be held on Nov. 14.
