Chamber Winds Ensemble to play Met Theatre April 4

The West Virginia University Chamber Winds Ensemble will perform at The Metropolitan Theatre in downtown Morgantown at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 4.

Student performers make up the ensemble on flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn. The will perform under the baton of John Weigand, professor of clarinet at WVU.

The program will include:

Serenade No. 12 in c minor, K. 388 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the great classics for wind octet.

Serenade, Opus 43 by Emil Hartmann, a romantic work that includes a wide variety of styles such as polka and march.

Sept Danses by Jean Francaix, the musical score for a ballet about two young children, Sophie and Paul, and their adventures.

Oboe: Trey Converse, Karyann Mitchell and Nick Schlie

Bassoon: Alex Charles and Lucia Zung
