Why did you choose to attend WVU?

I chose WVU because of the amazing music degree programs! The CAC was recently built during that time and I felt that if a University put that much effort into their creative arts degree programs, that, that was an excellent place to pursue my education. In addition, I saw The Pride on National TV and knew I just had to be a member of this elite group of musicians!

What is your profession now?

I am a Music Therapist, Board Certified. I work as a professor to both undergraduate and graduate music therapy students at Loyola University New Orleans. I also work PRN (as needed) as a music therapist serving children, adolescents and adults at an in patient and out patient mental health facility

What is your most interesting current/upcoming project?

I have recently accepted a new venture as the Education Consultant for the American Music Therapy Association.

How do you feel WVU and the College of Creative Arts prepared you for your career?

I feel that the CCA emphasized the importance of community. No person is an island. There are always other perspectives to be considered. Today, I much prefer working on a team than working on endeavors by myself. I have made amazing connections with people from all over the world and am a better person because of it!

If you could give one piece of advice to incoming or current students in WVU's College of Creative Arts, what would it be?

The piece of advice I would give incoming & current students is to look for the silver lining. I feel we need to look at the good in people and situations and know that by doing so, we grow by leaps and bounds!
