Students from West Virginia University School of Theatre & Dance are coming back to the stage with ‘35mm: A Musical Exhibition’ Sept. 30 - Oct. 3.

The production is a collection of songs and transitions by Ryan Scott Oliver based on photographs from Matthew Murphy. The musical is entirely sung for the 75-minute run time.

“This is a show about images and how people see the world,” said Matthew Greenberg, visiting assistant professor of musical theatre. “As we know, there is no one right way to see the world. Every perspective is unique. We've transcended this model into how we rehearse.”

Under the guidance of faculty, students handle every aspect of the production. Greenberg recruited two undergraduate BFA Musical Theatre students to serve as co-directors and co-choreographers on the production.

the cast and crew of ‘35mm: A Musical Exhibition,’ were able to take a master class with the show's award-winning composer and lyricist, Ryan Scott Oliver. Students were able to ask questions about their role and gain a deeper insight about the work they are creating from having an inside look though the composer's eyes.

‘35mm: A Musical Exhibition,’ will be performed in the Museum Education Center at the Art Museum of WVU. Tickets at $12 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
