Student Spotlight: Bailey Boyce

Name: Bailey Boyce

Bailey Boyce

Class Rank: Senior

Major and Minor: Music Therapy with minors in Music Industry and Entrepreneurial Studies

Why did you choose to attend WVU?

Originally I planned to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College, however, my intial degree choice was Animal and Nutritional Studies and WV Wesleyan did not offer any contracts with other schools for Veterinary Studies.

What do you like about your major and your WVU experience?

The thing that I enjoy most about my major is that we get to provide assistance to so many people within our community with music. Additionally, I would have to say the amazing progress in a clients rehabilitation process from the assessment session to the discharge is what makes it worth it. It is always sad to leave them, but I am glad we could supply our support and assistance. What I like most about my WVU experience is that I have learned how to be a structured/organized, well guided individual because it is such a large campus. If you do not have it together then you will find yourself on another campus. I did that once or twice.

What advice would you give to prospective students considering attending WVU’s College of Creative Arts?

Get ready to make a lot of friends/sources really quick! Most of these people will be with you until the end of your time at WVU. It is not like other degrees/colleges where you have a lot of people in an introduction course that you will most likely never see again.
