Name: Zoe Levine
Graduation Year: 2018
Degree(s) Received: BM in Music Therapy, Minor in World Music
Why did you choose to attend WVU?
I felt the music school at WVU provided a supportive and caring environment, which
is something other music schools lacked. I knew my professors and peers wanted
the best for me.
What is your profession now?
I am a school based music therapist in Ann Arundel County in Maryland.
What is your most interesting current/upcoming project?
My everyday job is pretty interesting! I get to design innovative ways to incorporate
music into social, emotional, and academic learning. I’m also working on a research
project about teaching reflexivity to music therapy students.
How do you feel WVU and the College of Creative Arts prepared you for your career?
My professors at WVU tailored feedback and instruction to my strengths and areas
of need. They held me to a high standard and intentionally provided opportunities
for growth in the local Morgantown community as well as on the national and international
music therapy stage. They also connected me with the perfect internship which got
me my dream job right after graduation. My world music minor prepared me to work
with a variety of clients from different backgrounds.
