Class Rank: Senior
Major and Minor: Printmaking, Art History
Why did you choose to attend WVU?
My father went here and was part of the College of Creative Arts which first put
the school on my radar. I fell in love with the Pride of West Virginia at a very
young age and that's really what decided it for me. When the time came to choose
a college, Morgantown and the School of Art and Design seemed the best fit for
me.
What do you like about your major and your WVU experience?
Joe Lupo is really what made my time here amazing. I had never really heard of printmaking
before coming to WVU and I took his Intro to Lithography class and switched my
major to Printmaking almost immediately. He and the other students in the program,
undergraduate and graduate alike, foster a sense of community that I fell in love
with from the very start. He's provided opportunities and insights into printmaking
that I don't think I would have received anywhere else.
What advice would you give to prospective students considering attending WVU's
College of Creative Arts?
Don't be afraid to take risks as an art student, that's why we're here. Do what scares
you and don't be afraid to play, get dirty, and make mistakes.
