Faculty Spotlight: Hope Koehler

Dr. Hope Koehler Name:  Dr. Hope Koehler

Associate Professor of Voice

What classes do you teach?

I teach voice lessons to students at freshman through doctoral levels.

What advice to you have for students wanting to take your classes, or in general, classes in the College of Creative Arts?

Believe in your gifts and invest in them. Talent is only the beginning of your story. Invest yourself in mastering your craft so you don't end up the most talented person in the unemployment office.

What are your research interests, and are there any projects you are currently working on?

I have a love of the music of John Jacob Niles. Currently, I have two solo CDs of the songs of John Jacob Niles on the market: The Lass from the Low Countree, and Lost Melodies. They were recorded with James Douglass at the piano. I am working toward a third Niles CD, also with James Douglass.
