This exhibition features 28 student works in ceramics, photography, sculpture, printmaking, graphic design, painting, drawing, video and animation. The opening reception for the exhibition will take place on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 5 p.m., at which time the winners will be announced. This reception is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
The Annual Juried Student Exhibition is open to undergraduate and graduate art majors and minors currently enrolled in the WVU School of Art and Design. The works are selected through a multi-tiered process that starts with a committee of WVU School of Art & Design faculty and ends with the awarding of numerous prizes selected by an outside juror.
The juror selected for this year’s exhibition is Brett Kern, an artist, educator and curator. Kern received a BFA from California University of Pennsylvania and an MFA in ceramics from West Virginia University. He has taught at Davis & Elkins College, Randolph County Community Arts Center and at the Augusta Heritage Center of D&E.
