WVU Wind Symphony to perform ‘Almost Heaven’ concert

The West Virginia University Wind Symphony will present their final concert of the fall semester at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Creative Arts Center.

The concert, entitled “Almost Heaven,” will be led by Scott Tobias, WVU director of bands. He will be joined by doctoral candidate Matthew McCurry.

The program includes:

Variations on a Hymn by Louis Bourgeois

The Final Covenant by Fisher Tull

Angels in the Architecture by Frank Ticheli

Variations on a Shaker Melody by Aaron Copland

Praise Jerusalem! by Alfred Reed

Hope Koehler, associate professor of voice, will join the symphony for Angels in the Architecture.
